The race is being conducted on a federal military installation. Accordingly, runners will be very limited in what they can carry with them while on the course. Specifically:

- Any item brought onto the course must fit in the runner's pocket or be carried.

- All other bags, cases, and backpacks are prohibited.

- An exception will be made for runners carrying medically necessary items after the bag has been inspected.

- Mobile phone arm bands are permitted.

- Water backpacks, water belts and water bottles are not permitted. (Note that we will have a number of water stations along the course.)

- Any jackets or additional clothing runners have must stay with them throughout the race. These items must be stored in the runner's pocket or carried.

- ADA service animals are permitted. Otherwise, pets are not permitted on the course or at the Finisher Festival.

Outside the main gate, we will have a bag drop station where runners can check in their personal belongings before entering the starting area. The items can be retrieved after the race. Please limit the number of items you bring to the race.

The Finisher Festival will be held in an area just outside the security station. Items permitted in this area:

- Clear Tote – Plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″x6″x12″
- Plastic Storage Bag – Clear, one (1) gallon, re-sealable
- Small Clutch Purse – Approximately the size of a hand with or without a handle or strap. No larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″ with or without a handle or strap. Can be carried separately or within an approved plastic bag.

Coolers are not permitted. Please be aware that, as this is a federal military installation, all bags and belongings are subject to a search.

Weapons of ANY kind are not permitted on the course or at the Finisher Festival. (The Texas Carry Policy does NOT apply to our federal installation.)

Runners will gather near the security station located at the intersection of Alta Mere Drive and Ridgmar Meadow Road.
Runners are NOT allowed to park on the base or in the finisher festival area. Free parking is available across the road on the south side of Ridgmar Mall--please refer to the map above.
Please do NOT attempt to drive onto the base, as all non-military personnel will be denied access. Note that while individuals with a military ID will still be able to get on base, they will NOT be able to access the race starting point.

FORMAT: We are thrilled to be able to hold this race in-person. In an effort to minimize the risk of Covid infection during the event, we will use a staggered start. Runners will be placed in corrals and asked to maintain social distancing. Corral placement will be first-come, first-served. Race winners will be identified by their chip time, NOT their starting time. "Chip time" describes the actual amount of time it takes for you to run the race, regardless of when you start. Further details will be released during race week

10-mile course on the base, no significant elevation change or obstacles. The course is USATF certified  (click here to view).

Once the gun goes off at 7:15 am, you will have no more than 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete the course.

All runners must finish within the 4.5 hour time limit in order to receive an official time and a finisher's medal. For your own health and safety, the 4.5 hour limit will be strictly adhered to and there will be no exceptions. Should we need to create race start waves, participants will need to maintain a 20 minute mile pace or risk being diverted at a specified point on the course.

The race concludes just outside The Commercial Vehicle Inspection station (CVI). This area will include bleachers, space for people to watch the finish, as well as the finisher festival. A detailed map of the Finisher Festival area will be posted at a later date.

Runners will finish in the finisher festival, where we will have a variety of food trucks and refueling goodies for all.
